Age Sixteen-Open Up Finders Please

Emo band from Baltimore with members of Sawhorse, Surf-Nazis on Ecstacy, and ex-members of Lilu Dallas

Age sixteen plays a very distinctive style of emo with a lot of clean guitars and complex drumming, often compared to Suis La Lune, with vocals sounding somewhat similar to a more emotional/aggresive Bear vs. Shark

Castevet - Summer Fences

Chicago’s Castevet play some of the most seriously challenging beard-rock one can think of. The quartet have the gruff, typically No Idea-esque vocal roar down pat, but they’re not backing it up with the usual set of three chords doused in whiskey. There’s something lighter and more intricate backing that roar up, and that’s a juxtaposition that makes for a really unique sound.”
-Punknews.org

Castevet’s first full length “Summer Fences” was released on Count Your Lucky Stars records in June of 2009.

If you haven't heard of this band yet... you will. One of the most brilliant acts to come up. I think, its like Men as Trees meets Cap'n Jazz. Awesome post-rock, emo, and math rock parts. I'm so pumped just listing to this...

Charles Bronson-Complete Discocrappy

Charles Bronson was a hardcore/thrash band from Dekalb, Illinois. Noted for their use of film/TV samples as postmodern metacommentary within the structure of their music. (The eponymous self-referencing sample comes from Gary Oldman’s character in True Romance.) They played fast and heavy thrash and hardcore along with contemporaries such as MK-Ultra and Social Coma. Their two-disc discography, entitled Complete Discocrappy, was released on Youth Attack Recordings/625 Thrashcore in 2000. Members went on to be in bands like Holy Molar, Das Oath, and Ruination.

Contrary to popular thought, only half the band was actually straight-edge.
