Castevet - Summer Fences

Chicago’s Castevet play some of the most seriously challenging beard-rock one can think of. The quartet have the gruff, typically No Idea-esque vocal roar down pat, but they’re not backing it up with the usual set of three chords doused in whiskey. There’s something lighter and more intricate backing that roar up, and that’s a juxtaposition that makes for a really unique sound.”
-Punknews.org

Castevet’s first full length “Summer Fences” was released on Count Your Lucky Stars records in June of 2009.

If you haven't heard of this band yet... you will. One of the most brilliant acts to come up. I think, its like Men as Trees meets Cap'n Jazz. Awesome post-rock, emo, and math rock parts. I'm so pumped just listing to this...

Lion of the North - The Compass Calls

Chaotic, honest, occasionally melodic, and now broken up.
Lion of the North released a single EP, “The Compass Calls”, and a split with Mans.

If this album isn't classic, i don't know what it. It has everything a screamo fan could want. Its fast, sometimes heavy, sometimes uplifting and melodic. This is a personal favorite of mine. Enjoy

The Blue Letter - Prima Facie

In a time when the hardcore scene has been confined to breakdowns and guitar squeals; and fashion has seemed to become more important than ideas and music, The Blue Letter challenges stereotypes and genre boundaries with explosive textured soundscapes. Their music is passionate and dynamic, layered with hoarse screamy vocals and soft interludes. As of August 4th,2007,The Blue Letter has begun the search for a new bass player.
The Blue Letter found a new bass player in 2008, Blake from Me and Him Call it Us “Blake from meandhimcallitus has joined the band playing bass. His move here from Atlanta, GA in February made the triforce complete, and so far our practices together have displayed a level of cohesion that not even The Blue Letter has ever experienced before.” - Blue Letter Myspace Blog

-Another really good post rock screamo CD. Moved in 98 is breath taking. The whole album is beautiful yet full of raw passion. People showing their love for this music by throwing everything they've got at it. Get this CD.

Mesa Verde - The Old Road

Formed in Paul’s Hall practice studio in Cumbernauld, Scotland in June 2004 and played first gig several weeks later with Yage in the Barfly in Glasgow on 7th August.

Recorded a demo CD with Tom Mitchell in his Perth living room in June 2005 and around 100 CDrs were made. They sold pretty quickly and “In This Silence We Will Slow Dance” is now out of print.

In spring 2006 recorded “Amor Fati” with Robin Sutherland in his home studio in Dundee, and co-released it on CD with Art For Blind records. This was followed by a summer UK tour with Amanda Woodward and Aussitot Mort.

New album “The Old Road” was released on 1st August 2008, released on 12” vinyl (with free digital download). The album was once again recorded by Robin Sutherland and released by Art For Blind Records.

Excellent post-rock screamo, this is a hard style to find and these guys do it really well. This album is beautiful, some of the riffs are God like. Check it

Captain, Your Ship Is Sinking - S/T EP

Captain, your ship is sinking from Hengelo, Netherlands started out in 2007. They play something like Envy or Burst, recorded a self-released demo which you can hear on this page or download*, and likes to play shows.

Very good Post-Rock Screamo. The recording is a little rough, but over all the cd is great. Would suggest it for anyone who likes Mesa Verde or the Black heart rebellion.

Comadre-A Wolf Ticket

Comadre is a band from Redwood City (a suburb of San Francisco), California, comprising of former members of Heartcrosslove, One’s Own Ruin, and Light This City. Their sound is an off-shoot of hardcore and punk played fast and chaotic with an abundance of energy, but also a large focus on melody and tunefulness. Their influences can perhaps best be shown by the covers the band has performed live, by groups such as Rites of Spring, Refused, Kid Dynamite, and Suicide File.
